I am a Technical Project Manager based out of Hyderabad with nine years of total industry experience. I was born and brought up in Vijayawada. It is a beautiful city known for its peace, good food, and strict 9 PM shutdowns. I completed my BTech in Computer Science from VRSEC as part of the 2016 batch. Those four years of engineering prepared me very well for my actual career.
I spent the first five years of my career as a mobile application developer and the next four years in program and project management. I started off writing code at Tech Mahindra as an Android Developer. After that, I moved to Google as an Android Security Analyst in their Trust and Safety division. My job was to reverse engineer applications and catch the sneaky ones trying to leak user data.
Somewhere along the way, I realised I was more interested in managing projects than finding bugs. I joined Microsoft as a Project Manager to run customer engagements. Today, I work as a Technical Project Manager at Persistent Systems. I basically act as the middleman between what the client wants and what the engineering team can actually deliver by Friday. I no longer write code. I write Jira tickets, assign tasks, and follow up until the work is done. My real skill is turning vague updates into actual delivery dates.
What to Expect This blog is my honest view of the software industry from a Project Manager perspective. I will write about product decisions I strongly support, UX choices that frustrate me, and features I keep pitching in meetings.
